New Yucaipa planning commissioners sworn in; Stacy Chester elected chair, Dennis Miller vice chair

Newly appointed members of the City of Yucaipa Planning Commission were sworn in at the commission’s Feb. 5, 2025 meeting and the commission elected its officers for the year.

The city clerk administered the oath of office to the newly appointed commissioners before the meeting proceeded. Certificates of appointment were signed following the oath.

During the meeting the commission held nominations and voted for chair and vice chair. A nomination for Stacy Chester as chair was moved and — after a roll‑call vote — the chair was announced as Stacy Chester with the commission recording “4 in favor” during the tally. Commissioners recorded voting yes included Commissioner Mullins, Commissioner McPherson, Commissioner Hicks and Commissioner Chester; other roll‑call responses included nays and abstentions recorded during the roll call dialog in the minutes.

For vice chair, Dennis Miller was nominated and elected by roll call with the commission recording 7 yays and 0 noes. The meeting minutes show multiple commissioners voting in favor by name during the vice chair roll call.

The commission then continued with staff introductions and the remainder of the agenda.
