Commissioners and staff urged residents at the Feb. 5 Levan Planning Commission meeting to sign up for meeting notices on the town website (LevanTown.org) and on the Utah public notice website so they receive agendas, audio and minutes.
A resident (Amy) asked where to find meeting information. Planning Chairman Nathan Washer explained that agendas and meeting minutes are posted at two local locations (the post office and a store in Levan), on the town website and on Utah's public notice site. "It will always get posted at the 2 greatest meetups in Levan," Washer said, adding that residents can sign up on the state site to receive email notices and audio recordings. He also noted the state no longer requires publication in the local newspaper for all public notices.
Commissioners recommended residents sign up for both town and county notices because county and state actions can affect the town. Staff said meeting audio and minutes are accessible via the Utah public hearings site for those unable to attend in person, and reminded residents that on the state site users must select each jurisdiction they want to follow.
The commission asked staff to continue posting notices at the post office and other local bulletin boards, and to remind residents about the online sign-up options.
