Levan planning commission recommends minor correction to land-management ordinance

At its Feb. 5 meeting the Levan Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the city council review a minor textual correction to the town land-management code, specifically Section 16.10.60.060(f) concerning fences, hedges and walls.

Planning Chairman Nathan Washer explained the proposed change: remove a period, add the word "or," and change the letter "V" to lowercase in the referenced subsection, then forward the item to city council for review. "That's how it will be recommended to the city council for a review," Washer said when introducing the item.

Commissioners discussed no substantive policy changes to the ordinance; the amendment described at the meeting was editorial in nature and intended to align the code text with the town's drafting conventions. The commission moved to recommend the correction to city council and recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor.

The commission's action was limited to a recommendation to city council; no ordinance was adopted by the town at the meeting and no specific effective date was set in the record. The recommendation will appear on a future city council agenda for formal consideration.
