The Building Inspection Commission on Feb. 12, 2025 re-elected Alexander Toot as president and chose Shattuck as vice president in unanimous roll-call votes, then reappointed members to two internal committees.
Commissioner Chavez nominated Alexander Toot for president; the motion was seconded and the commission approved the nomination by unanimous roll call. Commissioner Newman nominated Shattuck for vice president; that nomination was likewise approved unanimously.
The commission also reappointed the existing members of the litigation committee — Commissioners Williams, Alexander Toot and Newman — and appointed Commissioner Shattuck, Commissioner Chavez and Commissioner Ming to the nominations subcommittee. Each of those committee reappointments and appointments passed by unanimous roll call.
These organizational votes were procedural actions taken during the same special meeting in which the commission reviewed the DBI budget submission and considered funding options for grant-funded tenant-outreach programs.
