Show Low city leaders and public safety officials presented awards and commendations on Feb. 4, recognizing officers, volunteer units and partner agencies for work during 2024.
The recognition event, held during the City Council meeting, included a review of department activity and several unit and individual awards. Allen Rogers. - Dispatcher of the year: Desiree Peace. - Officer of the year: Officer Toby McIntyre. - Chief’s award: Detective James Barber.
City officials repeatedly thanked department staff and volunteers and emphasized community support. The mayor and several council members noted both the operational demands placed on officers by traumatic incidents and the council’s consistent support for department requests.
