Human resources report: fewer than 10 open positions, several hires on agenda; district counselors offered after teacher's death

The Bound Brook Board of Education's human resources report during the January meeting said the district currently has fewer than 10 open positions and that a number of hires were brought forward on the meeting agenda.
The report noted a secretarial vacancy at the high school for which both internal and out-of-district candidates applied and said the strength-and-conditioning coach position was on the agenda. The HR representative said the vacancy spreadsheet is a “living document” and that administrators are reviewing renewals and nonrenewals for the remainder of the school year.
The HR report also said the district has extended accommodations for reduced schedules and that those arrangements will be reviewed. The superintendent and HR staff noted with regret that a Smiley School teacher recently passed away; counselors were made available to students and staff for support.
Personnel resolutions (agenda items 7.2 through 7.42) were presented and included in the consent motion. The board voted to approve the personnel resolution package during the meeting (see "Votes at a glance").
