Civil Service Commission elects Frey president and Iverson vice president for 2025

The Madera County Civil Service Commission on Jan. 21 voted unanimously to elect Commissioner Frey as commission president and Commissioner Iverson as vice president for 2025.
Human Resources staff recommended continuing the commission's past practice of rotating leadership in inverse order; the recommendation, presented by Bridal Mendez of the Department of Human Resources, proposed Frey for president and Iverson for vice president. Commissioners approved the slate by roll call.
Commissioners offered little discussion before the vote. A commission member noted that leadership typically becomes effective immediately but said the start date could vary by preference. The motion passed by roll call with affirmative votes recorded from Commissioners Atwood, Rios, Iverson, Frey and Perez.
The newly elected officers will carry out commission duties for the coming year under the commission's standard procedures.
