A committee member said they checked aerial imagery using Nearmap and Google Earth and did not identify issues with the proposed relocation; public-works staff confirmed the petition met the substantial requirements.
No representative of the utility companies appeared at the meeting. A motion to approve the petition carried on a roll-call vote with all members present voting yes.
The committee recorded that petitions from the electric company are routinely approved unless public-works or other departments provide information showing the pole is improperly sited (for example, in a driveway).
