Mayor Bridger reported to the council that the Sheridan Economic Education and Development Authority has received state funding to proceed with a local project and has signed papers to acquire property on the north end of town for Phase 2 of a business park.
"We did get our money from the the the saws from the state of Wyoming to proceed with our project, so that was exciting," Mayor Bridger said. "We've signed the papers on that, and, we went to commit we've committed to buying the property out on the north end of town. And so, we do have phase 2 of our business park, which is gonna be going up and gonna get constructed, and we'll be rocking and rolling and shaking with our phase 2 Business Park."
The mayor presented the update during the council's committee and board report segment; council members did not take formal action to approve the purchase during the meeting. The council also heard that the Northeast Wyoming Alliance discussed approaches for the upcoming Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM) conference and that other intergovernmental meetings were on department calendars.
City administrators and council members characterized the report as a positive step for local economic development. No construction timelines, purchase price or specific state funding program names were provided in the meeting remarks.
