The Marion City Council on Dec. 19 kept open a public hearing on the burn-building package for the city’s Public Safety Training Facility after staff reported inconsistencies in a bid from Drager Incorporated and said the city and vendor legal teams were working to resolve them.
A city staff presenter said one vendor, Drager Incorporated, submitted a bid that contained "some slight inconsistencies than what we would normally see." The presenter said the city’s legal team and the vendor’s legal team were working through those inconsistencies and asked the council to keep the public hearing open so staff could return at a later meeting with a recommendation.
The council agreed to leave the hearing open. Staff told the council members the public remains welcome to provide comments while the hearing is open; staff will return with an action item and recommendation at a future council meeting once legal issues are resolved.
No formal award or denial was made at the Dec. 19 meeting.
