Votes at a glance: Baldwin-Whitehall board records multiple routine approvals; charter denial recorded

During the business portion of the meeting, the Baldwin-Whitehall School District board approved several consent and personnel items and recorded votes on multiple agenda bundles.

- Business consent items (agenda items 2.2–2.7): Motion passed 9-0. The items were presented as a consent package under the business agenda and approved by the board.

- Superintendent’s personnel consent items (agenda items 4.2–4.23): Motion passed 9-0. These personnel actions were approved as part of the superintendent’s consent agenda.

- Extended School Year teacher appointments (listed teachers for the summer program running July — exact dates listed in personnel packet): Motion passed with recorded vote 8–0 and 1 abstention.

- Non-personnel consent items (agenda items 6.2–6.19): Motion passed 9-0. This package included contracts, change orders and other operational approvals listed on the agenda.

- Charter school application (Dogwood Charter School): The board voted 9-0 to deny the application after the administration presented its review and recommendation to deny (see separate coverage). The vote closed the public hearing on that application.

Each motion was taken as presented on the consent agenda unless otherwise noted in the meeting record. Several agenda items were described in the meeting packet (change orders and allowances for Painter Elementary and Harrison Building projects; naming recommendation for the District Administration Building; out-of-state conferences funded by grants; and student participation approvals).
