The superintendent told the board that elementary schools will not accept new interdistrict transfers or tuition students and that families with current tuition students must renew by May 2 to be included in planning for next year. Secondary schools will continue to accept interdistrict transfers and tuition students but applications also must be submitted by May 2. “May 3rd will be too late,” the superintendent said. The district emphasized that transfers out of the district accompanied by funding are not allowed.
Superintendent remarks also listed recent student successes across grade levels: a Lake Oswego High School student named a Regeneron Science Talent Search top‑300 scholar for research on 3‑D‑printed small‑diameter blood vessels; two seniors (one from Lakeridge, one from Lake Oswego High) advancing to final stages of the Coca‑Cola National Scholarship; an eighth grader scoring 100 percent on a geography test; middle‑school mock trial and speech‑and‑debate results; and a fifth‑grade team placing second in the FIRST Lego League state championship.
The superintendent thanked neighborhood associations for recent meetings and said district staff will follow up on letters from middle‑school students on topics including artificial intelligence, cell phone policy, bathroom cleanliness and bullying. The superintendent said staff should respond to student letters.
No formal board action was taken; the transfer‑application deadline is an administrative schedule item for families and staff.
