CEO: staff to bring recommendation on claims administration RFP in March; community education coordinator pilot launched

Erin provided the CEO report at the Feb. 13 meeting and said staff will present a recommendation on the third-party administration request-for-proposal (RFP) at the March board meeting.
"We will be bringing our recommendation to the board, for discussion and a vote in March," Erin said, adding that the authority began internal work on the fiscal 2026 budget and will present a draft to the finance committee in March under its plan of operations.
Erin described an in-person training session completed for the community education coordinator (CEC) pilot. "When we sought approval from the board a year ago to engage in that initiative, we estimated that we would have between 10 and 15 community education coordinator partners. We have 7, which actually turned out to be perfect for a pilot year," she said. The authority added a CEC page to the website listing the seven partner organizations and said it will post their outreach calendars as they are finalized.
On procurement planning, Erin said staff will update the board on comparative analysis of standing up internal capacity versus continuing with an external third-party administrator; she noted prior board discussion from a year earlier about the time and cost required to build internal capacity. Board members requested that staff include cost and timeline estimates in the March recommendation.
Erin also reminded members to complete the Office of State Ethics online training and to send completion certificates to staff. "If you haven't, please do so," she said, adding a reminder that annual financial-disclosure filings will be due and that staff would remind members when to file.
No final procurement decision was made at the Feb. 13 meeting; staff will return with a formal recommendation and materials for a vote in March.
