Council approves rezone, Harvest Days bylaw change, trail study and property purchase in unanimous votes

Midvale City Council voted unanimously on several items during its January meeting, approving a zoning change for a commercial property, amending Harvest Days bylaws, authorizing a regional trail study and approving a purchase agreement for land intended for Public Works expansion.

The council adopted Ordinance No. 2025001 to rezone approximately 0.2665 acres at 744 South Union Park Avenue and 1116 East Chapel Hill Drive from Single-Family Residential-1 (SF-1) to Regional Commercial (RC). The council also approved Resolution 2025R03 to amend veto-notification procedures in the Harvest Days Festival Committee bylaws and Resolution 2025R04 authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) for a Porter Rockwell Trail plan. The council passed Resolution 2025R05 to approve a purchase agreement for two parcels at 8170 and 8172 South Main Street for Public Works expansion.
