Committee extends Rotary Club SBF grant deadline to July 31, 2025

The Supplemental Benefits Fund Steering Committee voted unanimously Wednesday to extend the maturity date on a $100,000 SBF grant to the Rotary Club of Oroville to July 31, 2025.

Staff explained the Rotary Club expects to have drawn the $100,000 before the new date but sought the extension because the committee meets only twice a year and supply delays had slowed project start. Committee members discussed dates briefly and the motion to extend the grant was seconded and approved by roll call.

Roll call on the motion recorded four votes in favor: Committee Member Goodson (yes), Committee Member John Stone (yes), Committee Member Fowler (yes) and Chairperson Pittman (yes). No abstentions or no votes were recorded.

Committee members also praised the Rotary Club’s volunteer project work during discussion; a member of the group’s leadership (Dean Ger) was mentioned as a local organizer involved in project coordination. Committee members and staff said the Rotary had obtained needed approvals and was mobilizing construction efforts.

The extension means the Rotary Club may draw the SBF funds through the new maturity date; no further conditions were added by the committee at the meeting.
