Palm Springs council reviews library naming-rights plan; foundation aims for $7 million campaign

Wiley said the foundation is prepared to accept multi-year pledges and worked through pledge-card mechanics with donors.
Wiley outlined the foundation’s broad fundraising target and priorities: roughly $2,000,000 earmarked for enhancements to the renovation plan and $5,000,000 to seed an endowment to support the library over multiple decades. He said the $100,001-and-up tier is proposed as a 20-year naming term intended to reflect a “generational gift.” Jeannie and Wiley said the foundation will use a digital honor wall rather than engraved bricks to recognize donors.
Council members asked for assurances about vetting donors whose names might appear on the building and asked that council be notified of donations in the $25,000–$100,000 range; the city manager said staff would notify council members about significant gifts.
