Council members moved and seconded the resolution; the clerk called the roll and the council voted unanimously in favor.
Bob Leonard, parks and facilities, told council members the council previously approved a related alley vacation late last year but that the transaction was not completed because the petitioner did not deliver the agreed payment before the deadline. Leonard said staff obtained a new appraisal reflecting a higher value and brought the petition back for council action to set the hearing date.
The hearing set by the resolution is a procedural step to allow staff to accept testimony and determine whether to complete the alley vacation consistent with city procedures. No final property conveyance occurred at the Sept. 24 meeting; staff will return with the hearing record and any recommended actions after the Oct. 22 hearing.
