The board discussed its annual superintendent evaluation process and timeline, with trustees agreeing to review submitted evidence and complete the formal evaluation at the July meeting.
Board members said they revised the evaluation questionnaire to shorten it and focus responses on five or six main questions rather than multiple subquestions. A board member said superintendent evidence and goal-related documents had been forwarded and that many items in the packet are hyperlinked for board review. The presenter asked trustees to watch for the evaluation materials and to aim for a one-week turnaround after materials are distributed.
Board members and the superintendent (responding during the public discussion) said they prefer to begin the closed-session portion of the July meeting earlier so the formal evaluation discussion does not extend late into the night. The board chair and staff signaled an intent to complete the discussion and to set goals for the superintendent at the July meeting, with staff to circulate supporting documentation in advance.
