Courtney Fox, Lansdale irector of parks and recreation, updated council on projects and programs on July 16, saying bids are out for multiple capital projects and that a recently completed restroom at Whites Road Park is now open.
Fox said bids for the baby/intermediate pool renovation are due Wednesday, July 23, and that bids for trail improvements at Memorial, York, Susquehanna and Wissahickon parks are due Friday, July 25. The trail work will widen paths to 8 feet to improve accessibility and multimodal use; a contract award for the trails is expected at the Aug. 6 council meeting.
Whites Road Park—s restroom facility and a water-bottle refill station are complete and open to the public, Fox said, and thanked Electric, Public Works and the Wastewater Treatment staff for interdepartmental help. Tuesday night concert series resumed and will continue through Sept. 9, with one date off for National Night Out on Aug. 5. Fox also reminded residents of a "Civics 101" walk at Whites Road Park on July 24.
