During the July 30 meeting the Mount Pleasant City Council approved routine financial and meeting-administration items, including a claims register, a transaction register and multiple sets of minutes.
The council approved the claims register dated June 21, 2025 to July 4, 2025 in the amount of $517,422.14 after a motion and second; roll-call recorded Lynn — yes; Paul — yes; Russ — yes; Ronnie — yes; Kate — yes.
The council also approved the transaction register dated June 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025 showing a negative $801.93 balance after a seconded motion; the vote was recorded with named affirmations during roll call. Council members moved to approve minutes for the May 27, 2025 and June 24, 2025 regular council meetings and those motions were approved during the meeting.
Council discussion earlier in the meeting flagged an item for future review: council members noted a decline in power purchase costs and referenced a February 2023 ordinance that requires monthly revision of the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) rate; staff and council agreed to revisit PCA revision compliance at a later date.
