Summary
The commission confirmed two historic walking tours — July 25 and Aug. 22 at 10 a.m., meeting in front of the theatre — and said the updated walking-tour brochure layout will not be ready for the summer season.
The Sandpoint Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation Commission confirmed two historic walking tours for this summer and provided an update on the commission’s walking-tour brochure.
Commission staff and volunteers scheduled tours for Friday, July 25, and Friday, Aug. 22; both are set to begin at 10 a.m. The meeting point for both tours was described in the meeting as in front of the Canada Theater. The tours will be drop-in only this year; commissioners said registration is not available because of limitations with the parks department. The commission asked staff to promote the dates on the commission web page, social media and through business partners.
On printed materials, staff said the commission’s revised walking-tour brochure layout remains incomplete and will not be available for this summer’s events. Commissioners said existing older brochures will remain available and that the commission will produce and print the revised brochure for use in the foreseeable future.
The commission asked members to help distribute flyers to local lodging and vacation-rental owners once the flyer is finalized; a volunteer offered to hand out printed materials to short-term rental owners and at visitor centers. No formal vote was taken; the discussion was informational.
