The Plat Committee approved a series of procedural motions on Jan. 8, 2025, including an extension to record a previously approved plat, multiple continuances and acceptance of the expedited petitions read into the record.
Recording extension: Anthony Sires, representing environmental consultants for the petitioner, requested a waiver of the two‑year recording requirement for plat case 2022 PLT 077 (addresses: 9330, 9335, 9435, 9440 E. 56th Street, Lawrence Township). Staff noted the plat had been approved in November 2022 and that the recording deadline had been Nov. 9 of the previous year; staff supported an extension. The committee voted to extend the recording requirement to Jan. 31, 2025. Votes recorded: Miss Evans — yes; Destiny Lejohn — yes; Vice Chair Rasdell — yes.
Continuances: The committee approved continuances to Feb. 12, 2025, for multiple items. Petitioner representatives requested continuances for vacation petitions (2024 VAC 003 concerning 7212 N. Ruhl Street / 7200 Sarto Drive, requested because an appraisal had not yet been received) and for 2024 VAC 004 (201 East Washington Street) after staff said updated legal descriptions increased a requested right‑of‑way width and required re‑notice. Staff supported both continuance requests. The motion to continue each item to Feb. 12 carried unanimously.
Another petition, 2024 PLT 067 (54100 W. 86th Street), was continued to Feb. 12 without new notice at the petitioner’s request; staff noted this was the third continuance and that it would be the last staff would support.
Expedited docket: The committee accepted an expedited list of plats read into the record, including (as read) cases 2024 PLT 066 through 2024 PLT 074 (various addresses and petitioners). The committee asked whether any petitioners or members of the public opposed the expedited items; none spoke in opposition. The motion to accept the expedited petitions passed with a unanimous committee vote (Evans yes; Lejohn yes; Vice Chair Rasdell yes).
Other business: Staff noted additional procedural items on the agenda and opened the remaining petitions for public hearing as required. The committee’s procedural votes set case dates and next steps for the items continued to Feb. 12 and allowed the expedited plats to proceed under the expedited process.
