The Plat Committee voted Jan. 8, 2025, to add a noise‑disclosure statement to the conditions of approval for case 2024 PLT 066, after airport representatives and the petitioner each told the committee they had agreed on wording for a disclosure to be placed on the plat.
Bob Duncan, speaking on behalf of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said the airport has long maintained a noise‑mitigation program and that future airport operations could affect the subdivision. Duncan described a written agreement with the petitioner to add a noise disclosure to the plat so potential residents would be informed of possible future aircraft noise. “The airport doesn't really have an objection to the subdivision, but we do want potential residents to know there could be, future noise impacts,” Duncan said.
Duane Sherr of Y Engineers, representing Lennar Homes of Indiana, told the committee the petitioner had reviewed the proposed disclosure wording and had no objection. “I've spoken to representatives at Lennar and they are fine with the wording of this and it will be added to the secondary plan,” Sherr said.
Committee members then moved to add the airport‑proposed language as a condition of plat approval. The motion passed with committee members voting yes: Miss Evans — yes; Lejohn — yes; Randall — yes. Committee records indicate the disclosure will be added as condition number 14; staff noted 13 conditions were in the staff report and the disclosure will be inserted as the new condition 14.
Staff said the airport and petitioner had provided a legal description and a survey, and that the requested language increased the public‑notice footprint of the requested right‑of‑way vacation in a separate case; staff supported the addition of the disclosure and the continuance that had preceded the discussion. The committee kept the petition on the expedited list after adding the condition.
