County ambulance compliance officer praises partners after heavy snowfall, plans after-action review

Nelson Castle, Shawnee County ambulance compliance officer, briefed the Board of County Commissioners on Jan. 13 about the county’s response to a recent heavy snowfall and thanked public-safety and community partners for cooperation during the event.
"I just wanted to briefly thank all of our public safety partners, our community partners, and several of our county and city folks that were available over the last 10 days when we had that little snow come about," Castle said. He noted about 14.5 inches fell in the College Hill area and described the forthcoming work with AMR and local fire departments to identify lessons learned.
Castle said the county will conduct an after-action review and that some spring collaborations between AMR and fire departments will incorporate the findings. He invited questions from the commissioners; none were raised at that time.
