Wake County Schools reports decline in suspensions, outlines restorative strategies and new mental health funding

Dr. Dixon introduced the behavioral health framework the district uses to connect social emotional learning, classroom management and restorative practices to student academic success. "Behavioral health encompasses the mental, emotional, and social factors that influence a student's overall well'being and ability to succeed in school," he said, and emphasized proactive supports in classrooms and community partnerships.
