Teton County approves $109,156 change order for General Services Building addition

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 4 to approve contract change order No. 14 with ACM Wyoming for $109,156.65 on the General Services Building (GSB) addition project.

County staff told commissioners the change order stems from earlier delays related to permitting and unexpected underground utilities encountered during excavation. Paul Wember, the project manager, said the remaining contingency split between the general contractor and the county owner is approximately $94,000 and that the change order amount is excluded from that remaining contingency.

Chandler Windham, senior planner in related remarks about other items, framed the presentation; project staff said the schedule and procurement risks have declined as the project moves into interior finishes. Commissioner Gardner asked for clarification about the delays, noting an initial permitting delay and then discovery of cable lines during site work. Wember confirmed both contributed to the schedule shifts.

Commissioner Carlman moved to approve the change order; Commissioner Macker seconded. The motion carried unanimously.

County staff said they will continue to track contingency use and update the commission on schedule and budget status as the project advances.
