County staff described project BROS‑C046 parent 88 as bridge No. 33, located on Iowa Avenue about a half mile south of C49. The plan calls for replacing the existing single‑span structure with an 8‑by‑8 concrete box culvert. The board approved the plans by motion, second and voice vote.
The second approved project, BROS‑C046 parent 90 (bridge No. 36), is west of Hardy at 100th and 65th streets and requires a longer barrel because of a 30‑degree skew. County staff said the replacement design uses a 10‑by‑10 concrete box culvert and that the project has received required environmental permits; staff reported the DOT letting is scheduled in March with construction planned for next summer or early fall. The board approved those plans by motion, second and voice vote.
County engineers explained skewed drainage and roadway intersections lengthen culvert runs and can increase cost. Supervisors asked scheduling questions and were told the two bridges will be included in the same DOT letting; they are not contractually tied together but will be advertised in the same month.
