Friends of the Truckee Library presented schematic designs for a proposed Truckee Regional Library and reported progress toward fundraising and site selection at the Town Council meeting. April Cole, executive director of Friends of the Truckee Library, said the new design responds to community input and addresses space constraints in the existing 1974 building.
"Truckee needs a new library," Cole said during the presentation, noting that the current building's maximum occupancy is 54 while the library serves a service area of nearly 20,000 people.
