Hampton council adopts consent agenda; approves multiple board and commission appointments

The Hampton City Council adopted its consent agenda and approved several appointments during the legislative session.
The consent agenda, described by the clerk as routine noncontroversial items, included adoption of amendments to the Hampton Zoning Ordinance adding infill housing design standards and approval of minutes from legislative and special sessions on Sept. 10 and Sept. 24, 2025. A motion to adopt the consent agenda was made and seconded; the roll call recorded unanimous approval.
The council also approved a slate of appointments. The city announced reappointment of Pamela Kelly to the Neighborhood Commission for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2029; reappointments of Gabriela Hayes and Veil McDew to second terms expiring Sept. 30, 2029; and appointment of Zoroyah Meyer and Honesty Williams (Bethel High School students) as youth representatives through Aug. 31, 2026.
On the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the council appointed Evan Grummell to complete an unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2027 and Catherine Wiesman to complete a term through April 30, 2026. On the Citizens' Unity Commission, Christopher Smith was appointed to complete a term through Sept. 30, 2027 and Stephanie Donati to complete a term through Aug. 31, 2026. Daniel Washko was appointed to a term expiring Oct. 31, 2029 in place of Natalie Crumson. On the Citizens Engagement Advisory Review Commission, L'Oreal Hardesty was appointed to complete a term through July 30, 2029.
The council also appointed members to the Hampton Youth Commission: Chuang V. Phan (or Fan), Naysha Ibrahim, Zaire Harris, Ethan Aheart and Honesty Williams.
A single motion and second carried each set of appointments; roll-call votes were recorded as unanimous (aye) by Councilman Bowman, Vice Mayor Brown, Councilwoman Campbell, Councilwoman Farabee, Councilwoman Harper, Councilwoman Mugler and Mayor Gray.
The council did not record any amendments to the appointments or conditions attached to the approvals during the meeting.
