Board approves routine minutes, financial reports, personnel actions and construction change orders

The Appoquinimink School District Board of Education on Dec. 10 approved a set of routine agenda items by voice vote.
Approved items included the Nov. 12, 2024 minutes; the October monthly financial report and internal accounts report as recommended by the Financial Advisory Committee; an overnight trip for the Appoquinimink High School boys basketball team (trip ID 10392) to Salisbury University; and change orders for current construction projects. The board also approved the personnel report, administrative contract renewals and extensions for fiscal year 2025 and established the next Finance Advisory Committee and board meeting dates.
Board members moved and seconded the motions on the record; each motion was carried after the board chair called for aye votes and asked if there was any opposition. No recorded roll-call vote or nay votes were noted in the meeting minutes presented during the session.
Construction-related change orders presented by the district construction manager included site signage, upgraded wall paint, and additional auditorium scaffold rental; the manager said the project remains on time and on budget. The board approved the change orders by motion.
The district said the Financial Advisory Committee recommended approval of the October revenue and expenditure report and the October internal accounts report; the board approved both reports.
The board scheduled the Financial Advisory Committee to meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, and set the next regular board meeting for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, in the same boardroom and on YouTube.
