Worth County approves DD 6 LAT 9 and Beaver Dam work; supervisors discuss a separate property drainage complaint

The Worth County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a clean-out for open ditch DD 6 LAT 9 and to authorize work on Beaver Dam in Drainage District 19 during Monday's meeting.

"I think we can. Hopefully, we'll achieve what Doug wants right now," a secondary-roads supervisor said while discussing the DD 6 LAT 9 clean-out; the board approved the motion by voice vote.

Separately, supervisors discussed a drainage complaint from a property owner in Cheese Grove Section 9 who reported surface water accumulation and said she could not find an intake on the west side of her property. County staff described map inconsistencies between old district maps and as-built field conditions and said a site inspection would be needed to determine whether an existing lateral extends onto the property or whether the problem is a private tile issue.

Board members directed staff to inspect the reported location, check culvert and intake records and determine whether district maps need updating before billing or charging for work. One supervisor said on maps the lateral appears to terminate near the property and that an intake usually exists on both sides of the road when a lateral crosses a road.

Ending: The board approved the two drainage motions by voice vote and instructed staff to follow up on the Cheese Grove inquiry, including a field inspection and a review of historical district maps and culvert records before further action.
