County discusses drainage repairs, Rice Lake easements and secondary roads maintenance

County staff said they received a call from Carl Peterson reporting tile holes and ongoing seepage along the DD 3/Lehi 4 line; staff members and contractors had investigated previously and made repairs but water movement and additional tile holes remained visible on recent drone video. "We went out there and looked at it. He dug it up and looked at it, but there's still tile holes all along there," a staff member reported, summarizing the communication with the landowner and field crews.
Board members and staff discussed past repair attempts: crews had fixed several locations, including a significant blockage at Seventieth where county crews had repaired a hole and later re-repaired it after renewed pressure. Supervisors directed staff to coordinate further inspection and, if needed, seek a different contractor; staff said they would share drone video and coordinate with field personnel Lynn and Ethan to determine next steps.
Separately, the board briefly noted two easements for the Rice Lake Golf Course clubhouse that had been sent by the county engineer and discussed whether to include those on next week's agenda; staff suggested tabling one item to await signatures.
Secondary roads staff reported normal maintenance activity: blacktop temperature observations, scheduled blacktop (seal/patch) work to keep equipment exercised, and tree-removal and grinding work in Rice Lake to improve sightlines and facilitate mowing. Supervisors discussed equipment usage, crew sizes and timing for work during better weather conditions.
No formal votes were recorded on drainage repairs or easement approvals at the meeting; staff said they would obtain further information and bring recommended actions back to the board.
