Bay Shore Union Free School District recognizes 55 educators awarded tenure

Mrs. Cope, assistant to the superintendent for human resources, introduced the ceremony and described tenure as a milestone awarded after a period of sustained professional performance. “Engineers make bridges, artists make paintings, scientists make rockets, but teachers make them all,” she said as the board and audience applauded.
The board and district staff presented a certificate to each tenured educator. District remarks explained that tenure in the district is granted after several years of demonstrated professionalism, collaboration, planning, evaluation and reflection, and that the award signals a renewed commitment between the educator and the district. Organizers invited all honorees outside for a group photograph with the board following the recognition.
District staff read and the board acknowledged a long list of tenured educators from across the elementary, middle and high schools; the presentation named staff including Kristi Amsler, Nicole Casanova, Kelly Cerevino, Andina Corbett, Joanna Curry, Nicholas DeMartino, Ann Marie Dunn, Emily Fruhauf, Terrence Foley, Amanda Gallagher, Kelly Giuliano, Jennifer Gamera, Alexandra Gorman, Kevin Leach, Nicole Lewis, Michael Longo, Renee Mancuso, Marissa Mato, Melanie McGovern, Emily Menezes (Manessas), Gabriela Morales, Lydia Moss, Brad Oblage, Kristin Ovale, Ketora Pankey, Annie Pygut, Sarah Rosnick, Jennifer Salgado, Danielle Simpson, Nyara Thompson, Jacqueline Torres, Megan Tramposch, Mary Kate Troll, and others across district schools. Several educators who could not attend were named and congratulated as well.
