Bexar County authorizes judge to negotiate venue-tax MOU; court approves separate MOU tied to downtown baseball and redevelopment
Summary
County Judge Peter Sakai won authorization from the Bexar County Commissioners Court on Feb. 4 to negotiate with the city of San Antonio and the San Antonio Spurs over a potential venue‑tax ballot measure and redevelopment of the Frost Bank Center and Freeman Coliseum grounds; the court separately approved an MOU tied to a downtown baseball and redevelopment plan with the San Antonio Independent School District and private developers.

Any voter authorization would be separate and must be placed on the ballot.
