At its Feb. 24 meeting the Sunnyvale Town Council took the following formal actions (all votes noted in the meeting record are 5-0 with Ms. Daniel and Mr. Clark absent unless otherwise noted):
• Consent agenda (items 1–6): Motion to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried, 5-0.
• Ordinance 2025-O5 (agenda item J-1): Motion to approve the first reading of a temporary five-year special-use permit for a contractor storage yard at 319 US Highway 80 with added conditions (focused/downward lighting; 8-foot fencing on frontage and west side or equivalent screening; warning signage coordination; comprehensive dust-control watering schedule). Motion made by Mayor Burton Finch, second by Dr. Woodrow; motion passed, 5-0.
• Board of Adjustment: Motion to reappoint eligible regular members and promote two alternates to regular members, and to pursue appointment of two alternates. Motion passed, 5-0.
• Planning & Zoning Commission: Motion to reappoint several members and to move an alternate (Place 8) into a regular seat. Motion passed, 5-0.
• 4B Economic Development Corporation board: Motion to table appointments until the next regular meeting on or about March 10. Motion passed, 5-0.
• Library Board: Motion to reappoint Place 1, Place 2, Place 6 and Place 7 to additional terms. Motion passed, 5-0.
• Executive session: Council convened in executive session on several items; upon return the mayor confirmed no action was taken publicly as a result of the executive session.
The council closed the meeting with a motion to adjourn, which passed unanimously.
