Consent agenda
The board approved the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the Jan. 13, 2025 regular meeting and the Jan. 14, 2025 special meeting and staffing recommendations. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Tom Mooney and seconded by Fessler. The board voted unanimously, 5–0.
Student transfers from WIVA, Destinations Career Academy and Insight School of Wisconsin
Under Wisconsin statute cited during the meeting (Wis. Stat. §118.408), the board approved recommendations from WIVA, Destinations Career Academy and Insight School of Wisconsin to transfer students back to their resident districts due to lack of engagement. The district statement read that the transfers were recommended "due to lack of engagement." Board members discussed the human impact before the vote; one member said returning students to their resident districts is unfortunate and raised concerns about whether families and children had been adequately supported before transfer.
