Councilmembers approved by consent several other items and voted to approve items 12 and 13, which modify the area plan and rezoning for the 4400 Blue Mail Road site, with a condition limiting building height to a single story.
The approved plan change for 4400 Blue Mail Road was supported by the Planning Commission and, the council was told, had received 18 mailed notifications in favor and none opposed. Councilmember Peláez moved to approve the modification with the plan change that sets the height limit; the motion passed on voice vote. The Planning Commission recommended approval, the council said.
During public comment, resident Jack M Finger urged denial of permits connected with items 9 and 10, saying zoning staff and a certification commission had recommended against approval. Finger argued the proposal involved truck sales and said such a use would “bother” nearby residents. The council did not decide items 9 and 10 at this meeting; they were set for continuation to the March 20 meeting, giving opponents and proponents another opportunity to speak.
The council also approved a consent agenda covering items 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 15; no members asked to pull those items for discussion. A separate motion to postpone item 11 to April was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Council members noted the Planning Commission’s recommendation on items 12 and 13 and the notice count for the 4400 Blue Mail Road proposal; the council added a one‑story height condition when moving for approval.
