New school construction proceeding despite winter delays, district project manager says

Mr. Bennett, a district capital-projects staff member, gave an update on the new school construction during the board meeting.
Bennett said block work is complete in areas J and H, about 95% complete in G, and progress continued on slabs with part of Area B scheduled for a concrete pour. He reported mechanical rough-in work at roughly 70% in areas J and H and light-gauge framing near 90% in the same zones. Roofing materials for the middle-school gym and Area H were on site, and several HVAC units had been delivered in advance to mitigate supply-chain risk.
Bennett warned that cold weather and forecast rain had forced sequencing changes and slower work on some slabs, and that crews planned to accelerate work when weather permits, possibly seven days per week. He said local subcontractors make up a large share of trades on site and that parking-lot and paving work is scheduled when permitting and weather allow.
