Live Oak receives GFOA certificate for 17th consecutive year, city officials say

Live Oak city officials on Tuesday presented a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, recognizing the city’s 2023 audit and marking the city’s 17th consecutive year to receive the award.
Finance staff member Leroy Kowalik described the award as the result of the annual audit process and introduced the certificate. Mayor and council members thanked the finance department for their work; one council member joked about confetti and cupcakes, and another reminded staff that public funds would not be used for any celebration.
The award and staff presentation preceded council discussion of the city’s annual comprehensive financial report later in the meeting.
