The Licensing Committee renewed the extended-hours and food-dealer licenses for KD Powermart at 6325 N. 76th St.
Sergeant Guadalupe Velasquez summarized recent police contacts at the site that included an overdose, a robbery and prior disturbance calls. The agent, Rabinder Kahara, told the committee he had posted “no loitering/no trespassing” signage, added security coverage from midnight to early morning and has worked with the local alderman’s office on recruitment for a permanent overnight security person.
Alderman Davius Chambers said the frequency of calls has declined year over year and that the operator had been cooperative; the committee approved the renewal on a voice motion with no recorded objections.
Committee members recorded operator commitments to maintain signage, continue securing overnight coverage, and to work with the alderman’s office on targeted problem hours.
