Board bundles and approves Resolutions 438–454 to set annual administrative designations

The Rochester Board of Education voted to bundle Resolutions 438 through 454 and approved the package, which delegates routine administrative authorities and designations for the coming year.

During discussion, one commissioner asked that the board explain the bundled resolutions to the public before voting, saying community members often do not know what is included when votes are bundled. The board president and vice president agreed to provide explanations; after that clarification one commissioner retracted an earlier objection and the board proceeded with a vote to bundle and approve the resolutions.

According to the motion on the floor and the clerk's announcements, the bundled resolutions include: designation of the purchasing agent; designation of the claims auditor; authorization to certify payrolls; designation of the treasurer for the extracurricular activity fund; designation of the Clerk of the Board of Education; authorization for budget transfers; procurement of blanket bonds for required officers and employees; designation of the depository; designation of the district's official newspaper; designation of the ADA coordinator/compliance officer; designation of the Title IX officer; designation of the medical records privacy officer; designation of the liaison for homeless children and youth; designation of the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) coordinator; designation of the records management officer; designation of the data protection officer; and designation of the Medicaid compliance officer.

The board adopted the bundle by voice vote; no nays were recorded after the final call. The clerk recorded adoption of the bundled resolutions and the meeting moved on to adjournment and a planned closed session for professional development on Robert's Rules of Order.
