Clean Water Services hires first full-time emergency manager, officials say

Commissioners heard an update that Clean Water Services (CWS) has hired its first full-time emergency manager, Beth McGinnis, who began work last week.
A CWS representative said McGinnis will build and maintain a comprehensive emergency-management program for the utility, focused on employees, customers and communities. The hire and establishment of a full-time emergency management program were described as investments in organizational resilience and preparedness.
CWS noted McGinnis’s background in public health and drinking-water emergency management and said she most recently served as an emergency manager for Clackamas River Water. The utility said McGinnis will report into the chief of staff portfolio (Elizabeth Edwards, per the presentation).
CWS told the commissioners the program will coordinate closely with county emergency partners and the Regional Disaster Preparedness Organization (RDPO) and that updates on program development will be provided to the board in the future. No formal board action was required or taken during the work session; the announcement was part of leadership communications.
