Humboldt County supervisors approve agenda, claims, voucher for Dakota City multipurpose building and continue employee rec benefit

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors members approved the meeting agenda, minutes and claims and voted to pay the Secondary Roads portion of Voucher No. 4 for the Dakota City multipurpose building, with $43,257.17 to be paid from ARPA funds. Yes…so I'd make a motion for set approval for voucher number 4 for the multipurpose building in Dakota City for secondary roads portion,” Board member 2 said. The motion carried.
The county’s staff and supervisors also discussed punch-list items for the multipurpose building that remain after a walkthrough. Secondary Roads staff reported that the voucher “pays for everything except for the remaining roughly 14,000 for overhead doors and retainage,” and described small remaining work items including door seals, flashing, a roller replacement and one panel that needs replacement. Staff said they will compile a final checklist for remaining items and follow up.
On employee wellness, a wellness-committee representative presented usage data showing about 15 employees used the rec center in the most recent fiscal year. The presenter said the county reimbursed half of a single membership last year and recommended continuing the same arrangement. Board member 3 moved to accept the 50% membership reimbursement for 2025 and was seconded; the motion was approved.
Other routine votes taken at the meeting included approval of the agenda and of Dec. 16 minutes and authorization of claims. For the claims discussion an official noted drainage claims and general claims figures reviewed during the meeting; specific line-item details were discussed by staff.
The board did not take additional substantive policy actions beyond these approvals during the session.
