Council conducts board interviews; appointments to be made at next meeting

The Boca Raton City Council heard brief interviews from applicants for multiple advisory bodies and trustee positions during its Oct. 27 workshop.

Applicants included Ben Nyberg, who sought appointment to the Boca Raton Housing Authority board and described his background in affordable housing and his family’s experience with public housing. Chrissy Gibson and Chris Helfrich interviewed as candidates for the Executive Employees Retirement Plan (EERP) board; Gibson said she currently serves on the EERP and has been a deputy city manager for 15 years.

Mayor Singer said the council will make the appointments at its regular meeting the next evening and that applicants need not attend to be considered.

Ending: Interviews concluded and staff confirmed appointments will be decided at the council’s next meeting.
