The Development Review Committee heard a staff summary on Oct. 8 about a pending land-use and rezoning request for 1030 East Sandpiper Street. The applicant is seeking to rezone the parcel from Transitional to Residential Country Estate and to change the future land-use designation to Residential Very Low Suburban so the property owner could later apply for a special exception for an accessory dwelling unit.
Amir, the project manager noted, “the applicant wants to rezone the property from transitional to residential country estate and, change the future land use from in progress to residential very low suburban so that they could, in the future, put put, be able to, apply for a special exception for an accessory dwelling unit on the property.” Community development staff offered no further comments and the departmental reviewers present — police, public works, fire and building — reported no outstanding issues at the time of the meeting.
The DRC did not take final action on the rezoning or future land-use change during the meeting; staff noted the matter will follow the normal review procedures and that further application materials or hearings may be required.
