County presenters said the regional court launched Nov. 12 and currently routes eligible Baltimore County defendants to Baltimore City judges, prosecutors and public defenders and a range of treatment services. Presenters said eligibility is broad: anyone who reports even a single day of military service may qualify, and the county will consider whether to develop its own veterans court in future years.
Workgroup attendees said the launch included senior state officials and local leaders. County staff described the regional model as a way to centralize veteran‑specific treatment and coordination while the county builds capacity for local programs.
