District seeks three-year substitute-staffing contract with EduStaff to improve fill rates

An administrator explained that the outsourced service would manage recruitment, training and recordkeeping and is expected to improve the district’s substitute fill rate across multiple classifications for both teaching and support staff. The board approved the agreement as part of the consent agenda; administration will finalize the written contract and the solicitor will review terms.
No financial details for the EduStaff contract were disclosed in the meeting packet; the agenda language said the agreement will be approved pending the final written agreement.
Board members asked for clarification on what problems the contract would solve and were told the change is intended to centralize substitute management and free district staff for other duties.
