Clemmons marketing director reports 11,000 cereal boxes donated to food pantry; upcoming community events announced

Miss Fox, the marketing and communications director for the Village of Clemmons, told the council on Feb. 10 that the village's Neighbors Helping Neighbors campaign has generated substantial donations for the local food pantry, including a school donation of cereal.
"Clemons Elementary just did their cereal box Domino's, last Friday. And that was probably the biggest part of this campaign now. It's, we get over 11,000 boxes that were donated to the pantry," Miss Fox said. She added that the village has drone footage of the donation and that organizers printed materials for the campaign.
Miss Fox listed partnerships and upcoming events that feed into the campaign: coin jars at places such as Novant Health, Clemons Bicycle and Ketchy Creek; a Forsyth County Creek Week event in March in which stormwater staff will participate; a spring medicine drop on March 24 in partnership with Inmar, the sheriff's office and the fire department; and a live steak giveaway at Public Works that will accept food pantry donations from people who collect meat.
Miss Fox said the village offers a Venmo link for donations and has encouraged community collection points. Council members praised the scale of the elementary school donation and noted the pantry should have cereal available in the coming months.
