Boulder oversight panel reviews December case files, tables two cases and accepts three for fuller review

Independent Police Monitor Sherry told the Boulder Police Oversight Panel at its January meeting that the monitor’s office reviewed one full case file for December 2024, and that the panel’s open docket stood at 46 active matters as of Jan. 3, 2025. One heavily discussed matter (case MI2024-013) involved a domestic-violence survivor who the panel said was arrested months after she first sought police help; the monitor reported that the panel found multiple problems in BPD’s handling of that matter, including concerns about trauma-informed response and record-keeping.
