"The policy was revised based on guidance provided by the New York State School Board Association," Mr. Russo said during the second reading. The board voted unanimously to adopt the revised policy.
The vote came amid a broader set of routine approvals. The board approved curriculum resolutions and new course proposals that include options for high school students to explore careers in teaching; multiple personnel appointments and leaves; business items such as facilities and transportation contracts; and an October 2024 custodial overtime-hours report. All consent-agenda motions passed on voice votes with seven members recorded in favor.
